Learning a new language

Just some thoughts from an old lady who has seen big changes since she got into this business in – gasp! – 1970….

Pretend it is the mid-90s.  You have just started to use email, and Google is nothing but a twinkle in the eye of 2 students at Stanford.  You open up an email, and you see this question:

“Is there a way to put a shelfari widget on a glogster page?”

Would you think you were reading English, or that perhaps the email had come to you from a “galaxy far, far away”?

This is one of the reasons I don’t want to retire.  I LOVE that I can understand “web 2.0 speak.”
